what we do
For Teens 8th - 12th Grade
Teens learn to paint and their art will be sold in an art gallery. All proceeds will go to high education scholarships for the participants.
For our Partners
We offer Bible studies to any of our partners in the community on any book of the Bible they request.
BOYS OF HONOR
For Elementary School Boys
It is a yearlong program for boys. We teach them their value in God’s eyes; what God says about boys and men and we teach them to be kingdom minded. One of the things we make a point to teach them is to give back to the community.
Daniel Plan - 40 Days to Healthier Life
We offer Daniel Plan program four times a year. It is offered in Spanish and English. This is a small group study centered on five essentials that will launch a journey to health: faith, food, fitness, focus, and friends.
6 Weeks Workshop and classes
It develops leaders in the immigrant population. It is required of the participant to be able to read, write and speak English, but we will help them develop their writing skills. The classes are three hours long and there is at least one hour of vocabulary, English and cultural trending; another hour on ethics and one hour on resource development.
We teach them how to search for the resources in the community to be able to help those that need assistance on their utility bills, enrollment on programs like WIC and Food Stamps, etc. In the ethic class we base our teaching on the writings of the Apostle Paul, we teach them what we believe and practice ourselves, we don’t give handouts we teach people to help themselves; we coach them. Part of the leadership class as well is the practical component where the participants call organizations in the community and report back to the class on their findings and the process of receiving assistance and on how to help someone go through it.
A girls club, from 1st to 8th grade
It is a yearlong program that meets twice a month; we have field trips, activities and a summer camp. We have registration for new students every November. We teach them their value in God’s eyes; what God says about girls and women and we teach them to be kingdom minded. Some of the things they learn as well are different types of art to express themselves, we have perspective, paint techniques and other forms of art; and we have a field trip to the Indiana Art Museum where they practice what they have learned so far by expressing concepts like salvation and obedience in art. We teach them as well how to dress appropriately and we have a fun day at the mall where we take them to go and try dresses and make them feel like the princesses they are. Other activities we have are a tea party with mom, a Christmas sleepover and more.
One of the things we make a point to teach them is to give back to the community, so we have service projects, for example during the Christmas season we have a wrapping party where we wrap gifts donated to us to families in need.
FAITH & FINANCES
This is a class to teach low income families how to use their income wisely. The class is given by request to churches, individuals, or organizations as long as we have a minimum of three students. It is a six to seven week program and it is Bible based, it can be done in Spanish and English. We teach them the value of money, how to save, managing debt, insurance and how to create an emergency fund.
