Esperanza is a Hispanic community center in Johnson County that is gaining national attention for its distinct model of providing direct services and building a truly interdependent relationship between the Hispanic community and the institutions that serve them. Esperanza works through the Spirit of Jesus Christ by cultivating a village of shared leadership between Hispanic Elders and community partners.
Where there are no services yet accessible, Esperanza provides them on-site: education and school re-integration, medical and dental clinics and legal support. Where there are services available, but limited mutual understanding, Esperanza builds bridges through translation and cultural training with the schools, public safety and employers. Where there is a tested or lost faith, Esperanza helps strengthen the relationship with God.
Esperanza’s relationships with both the Hispanic community and municipalities are so strong that they have become the “outreach arm” of many local community institutions trying to best serve Hispanic residents. However, Esperanza operates as an independent nonprofit organization that is solely supported by charitable contributions.
Esperanza’s model is not only one of making every minute count, but every dollar count as well. Financial integrity and efficiency are central to Esperanza’s operations. As a steward of investors’ contributions, Esperanza is committed to using funds for programs that will leverage powerful futures for the families and this community.
Esperanza asks that you join us in making every minute count, by making a financial contribution today. When a minute passes, it is gone.
